Welcome Taylor.Once your step dad takes you fishing you will see how much fun you can have catching anything from the smallest pinfish to helping your dad land a big shark.Fishing can mean you will be on a beach waiting to get a bite on a fishing rod but you can be playing making a sand castle, or watching the seagulls dash about ,or watching crabs dig there holes so shark fishing offers many opputunities to enjoy the seashore and all of the wonderful animals and fish that live there. Fishing is a sport you will enjoy your entire life and your step dad has done good taking you fishing because both boys and girls can enjoy it alike.Thank you very much for joining us,,,,,,God Bless You and your family!!

Gentlemen let me introduce myself my screen name is from a book written by Capt. William E Young titled SHARK! SHARK! It was a journal of his travels catching sharks
and all the different cultrues he encountered. The Pacfic Islanders nicknamed him
"kanemano" which translates to shark hunter. That book was written in 1933 And I first read it in 1973 and I've been fasinated with sharks and shark fishing. I grew up on the shores of Pensacola Beach and spent countless summers and winters waitin for that clicker to sing that party time song. I fished and learned from some of the finest LBSFishermen on the Gulf Coast. I fish mostly from land but have fished numerous
tournaments from boat. I have a passion for the sport and want to promote it in a good light instead of being looked on as Japanese whale hunters! The seasoned shark fisherman takes no pride in killing his catches and does so only when a release is not possible. I also feel a sense of betrayal from those who would leave a large animal on the beach for the public and press to find. This kind of careless action leaves our reputation as legitamate sportsmen in question. I have followed this site for some time and Will along with quite a few others on here really want to promote our sport. I think we can change the old preceptions of being a nusense to being viewed as an exciting sport that has a future of becoming accepted. I fished for sharks from Texas to the Islands in the Carribean. I look forward to talking with you and working to make the future of this sport an accepted form of game fishing. KaneMano .........jim

Welcome Aboard Jim.Having another seasoned shark hunter with the right perspective of protecting sharks here on this site is moving in the right direction .We are honored to have sportsman who have lived through the different eras of shark fishing from the shark killing frenzied days of "JAWS" to the present when sharks are being decimated by longlines and the need to protect them is recognized and very important.Men like Jim have been intelligent, and informed enough to recognize the need to treat sharks better then they were in the past.We need more old school sharkers who have seen all the changes and are willing to work to change the public perception of shark fisherman. It is important now more then ever that we can all work together to put a new face on LAND-BASED shark fishing .Our sport has been submitted to a barage of attacks in the last several years and needs more people to truly step up to the plate and defend our sport and our new way of doing things. We welcome all who can contribute to make a better tommorow for land-based shark fisherman. Again welcome aboard Jim.

Hi my name is Josh Reeves. I live in Panama City Beach and have been seriously shark fishing for about 4 yrs. I work for a small guide service here that specializes in shorebound shark fishing! I fish anywhere from St. George island to the east to Ft. Walton to my west, but mainly I fish here locally from one of our two 1500' piers. Being that we are a guide service I have several different rigs but when I am fishing I usually use a shimano tyrnos 50 (call me a pussy but I like the 2 spd. for the big boys)on a cutom built all roller guide rod with 80 lb pro and a 100 lb mono topshot and 20 ft of steel. we usuallly yak out the baits but in the winter with a good north wind we can "bag". I found this site through a friend on emeraldcoastpierfishing.com My email address is teamjdrracing@yahoo.com or you could facebook me. I love shark fishing and am a strong proponent of shark conservation (only kill what you'll eat and always eat what you kill) so I'm very glad I found your site and I cant wait to fish with yall soon.
